How you can design an awesome website

Nowadays, people are more often on social media and always active online. Whether your goal is to increase brand awareness or to sell a product or service, effective website design can be the difference between a new conversion and a lost prospect. As a website creator, your website is the reflection of your business and this is how users learn what your brand is all about. As part of your digital marketing strategy, the last thing you want for a poorly designed website to dissuade site visitors from becoming customers.
Website Design

As the old saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words"

Peoples habits online aren’t that different from customers’ habits in a store. Visitors glance at each page, scan some of the text, and click on the first link that catches their interest or vaguely resembles the thing they’re looking for. In fact, there are large parts of the page that they may not even look at. But of course, website design with a stunning photo of your product in the first part of your website, people will get more curious about it and will start to browse more. Digital marketing is not that different with the old-school marketing. However, website creators these days have to be more visually creative since there's also a lot of tools that can be used online to enhance photos. In truly effective website design, images can also be strategically placed to subtly guide users to where you want them to go. They can act as arrows pointing towards conversion points like “Shop Now” and “Contact Us” buttons.

Keep it simple!

Yes, colors are good, but when it comes to creating an effective website design, the simpler, the better. The keep it simple principle should be the primary goal of website design. Users are rarely on a site to enjoy the design; furthermore, in most cases, they are looking for the information despite the design. Website creators should strive for simplicity instead of complexity to make it effective. Sometimes, the more options you give people, the easier for them to choose nothing at all. Having too many options on your website as part of your digital marketing plan can overwhelm visitors and drastically increase the amount of time it takes for them to make a decision.

Make it visually appealing

Users don't read that much but they often just scan. Analyzing a web-page, users search for some fixed points or anchors which would guide them through the content of the page. No matter how great the content on your site is, you could be losing conversions if your website isn’t visually appealing. Three of the most important aesthetic elements for effective website design are colors, typography, and balance. Most of us know that colors elicit emotional responses. As an example, a website creator puts warm tones such as pinks and yellows, this will make people more excited and energized when compared to cool tones such as blue, greens and purples which represents tranquility and calm. As part of your digital marketing plan, you should choose something with a perfect balance of harmony and contrast. Heavily contrasting colors (like hot pink and lime green) can be jarring and distracting. It’s best to focus on hues in the same color family. Bold/bright colors are best used for the call to action buttons to make them stand out, so avoid using these colors in the background of your site.
